Balthazar Beauregard's Big Top Bonanza

Introduction

Balthazar Beauregard's Big Top Bonanza, also known as the circus, is a Distractions and Diversions activity in RuneScape. It is a circus-based game where you have to perform a set of three different activities which reward you in circus outfits and experience. The circus can only be performed once a week, unless you have a Distraction & Diversion weekly token obtained from the Squeal of Fortune and use it to redo the circus. Circus barkers are found in each town mentioning the whereabouts of the circus. There are no minimum levels to play, yet the experience given is excellent: with average, one can easily earn 20K-30K experience in just a few minutes!

There are no requirements to do this distraction and diversion. However, it is recommended to have high levels in agility, magic, and ranged. Having as many emotes unlocked as possible is also a plus.

Locations

The location of the circus randomly changes to another location every Wednesday at midnight GMT. Each location will have a unique audience with unique likes. There are twelve possible locations that the circus can be located in; your world map can be used to help you find it. The locations are:

  • Edgeville, east of the bank / north-west of the Grand Exchange
  • Seers' Village, south of lodestone
  • Catherby, north-west of bank
  • Taverley, north of lodestone / POH portal
  • Lumbridge, north of Combat Academy
  • Varrock, south of Cook's guild
  • Falador, outside the east bank
  • Rimmington, next to the POH portal
  • Varrock, south of the Lumberyard/sawmill
  • Draynor Village, near to bridge to the Wizards' Tower
  • Tree Gnome Stronghold, west of the entrance gate
  • Al Kharid, near the cactus farming patch north-east of the main market

The Circus

Once you have arrived at the ticket vendor, click on it and you will receive a Circus ticket. You will automatically be brought inside of the building. You can talk to Balthazar, the Ringmaster, to get an overview of the area. If you have performed previously and have lost your costume pieces, you can also talk to him to get another set of what you have already won. If you want to leave at any point, just tear your Circus ticket and you will be transported out of the circus area. If you log off while inside the circus area, you will automatically leave.

At each activity within the circus, there is a small progress tracker on the top right corner of your screen, showing which tiers of activities you have done and have yet to do, what the audience wants to see, and your current score. Following the audiences' wants will give you bonus points.
