Urns

Introduction

Urns are experience boosting items that can be made using the Crafting skill. They can be constructed to grant experience boosts in Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, Cooking, Smithing and Prayer, and the amount of experience that they grant will depend on the quality of urn being used. They are very helpful for skill training, as simply having them in your inventory will cause them to fill up with scraps. When an urn is full, it can be teleported away to an urn addict named Ernie, and the experience will be received. As well as teleporting, urns can be given directly to Ernie, who can be found in his house in southeastern Varrock.

Urns can be made for five different skills, and in one of many different stages of quality, which are as follows:

The material required to fill an urn can be calculated by using the formula:

Material = 5 x Urn teleportation experience / Experience per action

For example, for a strong woodcutting urn and willow logs:

Experience required = 5 x 1662.5 / 50

A strong woodcutting urn gives 1662.5 experience for teleporting, and one log gives 50 experience. Therefore, 167 logs are required to fill the urn.
