Brimhaven Dungeon

Overview

Brimhaven dungeon is a very large dungeon underneath the jungle island of Karamja. It is known that entering the Brimhaven dungeon is a potentially dangerous risk resulting in death to those unsuspecting as to what lies below.

Players come here to slay high level monsters for their valuable drops such as dragon plate legs, dragon plate skirts and the coveted draconic visage.

Getting There

The only entrance to the dungeon is south-west of the Brimhaven. Here is a list of ways to get there:

  • If your house is in Brimhaven then you can cast the 'teleport to house spell' which costs a law rune, an earth rune and an air rune. Exit your house and you'll find yourself in south Brimhaven.
  • If you have completed 'Love Story' then you can craft a Brimhaven teleport tablet.
  • Teleport to Ardougne using a tablet or two law runes and two water runes. Make sure you have 30 coins in your money pouch and run south to the docks and take the boat to Brimhaven.
  • Take the boat from Port Sarim to Musa point for 30 coins and run west over the Volcano until you reach Brimhaven, then just run south west until you reach the dungeon entrance.
  • Teleport free to Shilo Village using Karamja gloves 3 and pay the cart 10 coins to take you to Brimhaven, then run south-west.
  • Teleport to Musa Point using a charged amulet of glory and run west then south-west.
  • Use the Fairy Ring code CKR an run north to the dungeon.
  • Use the Karamja lodestone and run west.

Once at the dungeon entrance you will be greeted by Saniboch, a local tribesman who says you need to pay 875 coins to enter the dungeon. However, if you happen to own a pair of Karamja Gloves 3 then access is free.

Inside The Dungeon

Note: The dungeon is full of high-levelled dangerous monsters, you WILL lose your items on death so entering the dungeon is not recommended for those under 70 combat.

Once you enter the dungeon you will find yourself in an ancient ruined bridge, to the west of this is a safe area behind some vines where players can prepare for the monsters inside.

The different caverns in the dungeon are separated by vines; you must cut these using a hatchet before you can pass. Some vines require level 27 woodcutting to cut through.

Recommendations

  • 40+ defence- any less any you will find yourself taking considerable damage.
  • Food - Especially for those who have a low defence level or are planning on camping some of the monsters in the dungeon.
  • Your best hatchet - For cutting through vines, this action is interrupted by combat so a good hatchet is recommended to avoid this.
  • An emergency teleport - If you run out of food or are in an emergency, teleporting out is much safer than making the hazardous journey back to the entrance. The ectophial, teleport tablets and a tiny elf crystal are good examples of emergency teleports.
  • Dragonfire protection - Without it, dragons within the dungeon can deal horrendous amount of damage on you. Protection can be from a anti-dragon shield, a dragonfire shield, an antifire potion or a super antifire potion.

Agility Shortcuts

The dungeon is a long and confusing dungeon, but using these shortcuts shorten some journeys and even provide access to otherwise inaccessible areas. All of the obstacles require a certain level to pass but other than that they have a very small chance of failure.

Stepping Stones

This shortcut requires level 12 agility, it connects the moss giant area to the fire giant area.

Block Balance

Also requiring level 12 agility to cross, this shortcut links the fire giant area to the red dragon area.

Pipe

This shortcut allows you to get from the red dragon area to the black demon area, however, this can only be done at level 30 agility.

Stairs

Not strictly a shortcut, but nevertheless the stairs allow you to access the upper floor of the dungeon. Here you can find fire giants and greater demons.

Monsters

As with almost all dungeons, the main attractions here are the monsters. These range from the pesky wild dogs to the mighty steel dragons.

Other Attractions

These are useful locations that do not fit in the above categories.

Small obelisk

There is a small summoning obelisk in the black demon area in the south of the dungeon. Players can recharge their summoning points here.

This is a useful facility for those using summoning familiars when slaying monsters around the dungeon.

Resource Dungeon

This is an extra dungeon that can only be accessed by those with level 80 dungeoneering. To find the entrance, head to the iron/steel dragon area and enter the 'mysterious entrance' on the western wall.

Inside there are more iron and steel dragons as well as some anvils; this is useful for high-levelled players to train smithing from the 100% drops of steel and iron bars from the dragons.
