Description:
The construction of a mysterious tower is almost complete, but the builders working on it have gone on strike. Losing patience, the alchemists that hired them are looking for anybody to help them. When the world of magic and the world of logic combine you can expect dangerous results, but a true adventurer would cherish such things... wouldn't they?

Introduction

Talk to Effigy, who is outside the tower south of Ardougne, near the Neromancer's Tower.

He will ask you to convice his builders that they should keep building the tower because it is not weird.

Talk to Bonafido, who is lying down near a tree.

Ask him if you can go inside the tower, and he will tell you that you are not dressed properly, and that you should look like a builder.

Gathering Builders Clothes

You will now have to speak to the builders to get some clothes.

  • No Fingers - Talk to him, and then pickpocket him to get boots.
  • .The Guns - Give him a beer for his shirt.
  • Gummy - He will tell you he lost his trousers in the water. Search the plants near the water to find them.

Black Eye - He will ask you questions and you must answer correctly to get his hard hat.

Speak to Bonafido again once you have the outfit. He will now ask you some questions to answer to test your mental attitude as a builder.

Carry on, it'll fix itself.

After you have answered these questions, he will let you into the tower.

Fixing the Tower

Head into the tower. You will have to search the crates for supplies. You need:

  • 4 Coloured Balls
  • 3 Metal Sheets
  • 4 Valve Wheels
  • 6 Rivets
  • 4 Pipes
  • 5 Pipe Rings
  • 5 Metal Bars
  • 4 Binding Fluids

After you have got your supplies, head upstairs and you will see the pressure machine. Make sure you have 4 Coloured Balls, 3 Metal Sheets, and 4 Valve Wheels, and choose to fix the machine.

After you have fixed it, you will have to calibarate it. Do this by filling the leaks with the Coloured Balls. You have to turn the valves left and right until the ball falls into the hole, then turn the valve until the water reaches the top.

Pipe Number Method
2 Pull down the left lever, and then turn the second valve left twice. Turn it right until the pipe is filled with water.
4 Pull down the right lever, and turn the fourth valve right twice, and then left once. Turn it right until the pipe is filled with water.
3 Lift the right lever back up, and turn the third valve right twice and then left once. Turn it right until the pipe is filled with water.
1 Lift up the left lever and turn the first valve left twice. Turn it right until the pipe is filled with water.

Now climb upstairs, and make sure you have 6 Rivets, 4 Pipes, and 5 Pipe Rings, and fix the Pipe Machine.

After you have fixed the machine, you will have to make the pipes match up. Do this making the pipes line up so water can pass through.

Now climb upstairs again to the third floor, and make sure you have 5 Metal Bars and 4 Binding Fluids, and fix the cage.

Once you have fixed the cage, you have select the bar sizes that will fit inside of the purple spaces. The way to solve this is to guess the size with trial and error.

Once you have fixed it, you will get a message telling you that the tower is now in order.

The Tower is in Order!

Go talk to Effigy, and he will ask you to meet him at the top of the tower.

You will now see a cutscene of a beast being summoned into the cage. The beast will get angry, and everyone will flee.

Go back to Effigy and he will ask you to go and talk to the Creature.

Head back up to the top of the tower and talk to the Creature. It will tell you that is confused and you will have to answer 7 questions to make it see through either magic or logic.

How can I make fire appear at my fingertips? With the aid of 5 fire runes. Get some logs and a tinderbox.
How do dragons breathe fire? With the help of the magical dragonstones! By ignition of gas in their belly as they exhale.
What do people do, day-in, day-out? Runecraft, enchant jewellery, perform alchemy. Fletching, Crafting, Smithing.
What could I do with unwanted bones? Turn them into bananas or peaches! Bury them.
What's the best way to travel? Depends where you are headed, but teleport spells are a safe bet. Run, run as fast as you can.
I hear people whisper of potions... Yes, you can make magic potions to boost your skills. People mix together ingredients in vials. The nutrients will help you.
How are rune stones created? By harnessing the power of the gods! Take a rune stone to an altar and use a talisman.
Can people move things with the power of the mind? Yep, you can use the Telekinetic Grab spell. Sure. Use your brain to tell someone to move it!
How can I possibly exist? Through the power of alchemy. It's a simple case of combining materials.
Explain those flashing sparks that scared the alchemists. You have special powers - no surprise seeing how you were created. Coincidence - there is a lot of loose metal around.
I want to learn more - what should I study? How about Magic and Runecrafting? Try some Mining followed by Smithing.
If I reach out far enough I can grab the sun. Can't see why not, anything is possible. Don't be silly! You'd get burnt!
Am I a creature of magic or a creature of logic? Your very existence speaks of mystical forces. Everything has a reason, even if you don't know what it is.
Which do you believe in? Magic. Logic.

Note:You can only choose either magic or logic questions, you cannot do a mix of both.

After answering those questions, the Homunculus will cook up a plan to scare Effigy, and will tell you to go down to him.

Head down to Effigy and the Homunculus will appear and scare Effigy, and then ask you to meet him in the dungeon. Head down the trapdoor into the tower.

Talk to the Homunculus who is by the north. He will talk about what the place is, and tell you to speak to him again if you wish to learn more about creature creating.
