Fist of Guthix

The Basics

The basics of Fist of Guthix (FoG) is to win the game and you win the game by getting charges. You definitely need a tactic to kill your opponent, else it's pretty hard to win the game! You win the game by getting charges. If you have the most charges, you win. If your opponent has more charges then you do, you lose.. If you win games, you win rating and tokens. These tokens can be used to buy rewards (explained later).

Location

Fist of Guthix is located in the Gamers' Grotto near Falador. The easiest route there is by using the Falador Lodestone. Here is a map for the route to get there:

Being Hunted

Playing the hunted role is quite simple, and much easier than the hunter. First of all, when you get into the game, you will spawn next to a small stone. Take it, and wield it. This stone, called the Stone of power, attracts charges which gains you points.

Your goal, is to collect as many charges as possible. This may sound simple, however there's a twist. The more you get to the middle of the arena, the more charges your stone will collect. In other words, being close to the middle causes the stone to attract much more charges than if nearer to the wall.

Tactics

Below you can find some hints & tips on how to keep alive longer and the uses of the tools within the game when being hunted.

High Defence Armour

High defence level players would probably be better just take the stone, and use the teleport to the middle immediately. Stay amongst the crowd to confuse the hunter until he starts to attack you. When you are being attacked, either run into one of the 4 buildings around the centre or stay where you are to get more charges and heal with the bandages when necessary.

Lower Leveled Players

If your hunter has a higher combat level than you, teleporting straight to the middle wouldn't be a good idea. Instead, running and hiding would be much more efficient. One way of losing your hunter, is running to the far end of the cave and then teleporting, using the tele-orb.

If your hunter is using Melee, he will stop attacking you. However, if he used RangedMmagic, quickly run to the opposite direction after teleporting, or possibly use a portal in one of the 4 houses situated around the centre of the arena.

Portals

Around the main area in the FOG cave, there are four small houses with portals in them. Once you get in one of the houses, you will be dealt a small amount of damage and staying inside the house will cause damage every few seconds. Using the teleport in the centre of the building will teleport you to another house randomly. This is a good way of escaping your hunter, as he cannot see you on the minimap once you get in the house.

Combat Triangle

It is advised to bring different kinds of armour to the game to take advantage of the combat triangle.

Equip the heavy defence armour when your hunter uses Ranged, and defensive range armour when they uses Magic. If the hunter uses Melee, equip the Melee defence armour. It's very common for hunters to switch combat styles during the fight, so be sure you see their attack style.

Being a Hunter

The Hunter's aim in Fist of Guthix is to catch his target, and kill them. You can bring any of your own Melee weapons, Ranged weapons, Magic weapons or a combination of all of them. You do not need to bring any of your own runes as you will be provided with some in the arena.

The elemental runes replace Air, Water, Earth and Fire runes. Catalytic replace all the others. It is highly advised to use Magic or Ranged to attack your target when they run away, and Melee when are in close proximity.

Tactics

In this section, you can find some hints & tips on how to be as efficient as you can whilst being a hunter.

Orb Rush

An efficient way to catch your target before they hide, is to break the teleporting orb as soon as the round starts which will teleport you to the middle of the field. Afterwards, immediately run to your opponents' spawn point before they have a chance to hide from you. Once you have attacked them, right click there character and hover your mouse about the attack button again - There is a high change your target will teleport to the middle. If you attack your opponent with Ranged or Magic attacks, you won't have to do right click and hover as your character will simply run after your target automatically.

Target Traps You

Sometimes, if your target is skilled enough, he will trap you behind rocks in the arena and then keep running and losing you. The best thing to do to avoid this is to right click him/her, and the moment you see you're stuck behind any of the obstacles, click attack.

Lost Your Target

If you lost your target, go straight to the centre of the field where the charges are stronger. From here, walk in all of the directions (South, North, West, East) until you reach the wall, and back to the middle. If you still don't see your target in any place, go back to the middle and then go for a full circle around the field.

Rewards

With the tokens you earn, you can buy items. Here is a list of the items you can buy with your tokens:
