Haunted Mine
Description:
Recent forays into Morytania by some of Saradomin's more fanatical supporters have unearthed murky rumours concerning an abandoned mine in the south.

Legend speaks of an unusual material, hidden in the depths of the mines, that is somehow linked to the desolation and fear that now surrounds the place. Do you have the nerve to find out more, and enter the haunted mines of Morytania?

Introduction

Head south in Mort Myre Swamp to reach the Abandoned Mine and speak to the Zealot nearby.

State your allegiance to Saradomin and tell him you have come seeking for challenges and quests. Continue through the conversation to learn he has a key that he will not entrust you with. When the conversation has ended, pickpocket him to get the key. Head south slightly and climb over the mine cart, and then crawl into the cave tunnel.

The Mine

Head west through the mine and climb through another cave tunnel. Follow the curve outside and then climb through the second tunnel entrance. Follow the cave around and climb down the ladder to the first floor, and then head east and climb down another ladder to the second level. Towards the west will be a mine cart moving up and down the mine cart tracks, head south and attempt to walk down the track hiding in the alcoves to avoid being hit by the cart.

When you have passed the moving mine cart, climb down the ladder to reach the third floor. Head slightly northwest and pick some glowing fungus. With the fungus in your inventory, head northwest and place it in the mine cart.

Manipulating the levers

Towards the east you will find a set of levers. Examine the levers to see they are inscribed with letters and pull the following: A, B, D and E. Following this, make your way northwest and you will reach another set of levers. Examine them to find the inscriptions, pulling levers I and J. When this is done, head south towards the points settings panel and ensure the interface looks identical to below.

If your panel looks the same as above, press start and the mine cart with the glowing fungus will travel to the other side of the mine. If done incorrectly, the cart will fall into the water and you will have to try again. Now retrace your steps to the first floor. Climb down the ladder in the middle. Head northeast and climb down the second ladder, and then climb down the third ladder towards the west. Search the mine cart to receive the glowing fungus you placed in it earlier, and then climb back up the ladder. Head east and you will reach another moving mine cart, wait until you can squeeze past it and then climb down the ladder.

Head south and then take the eastern path. Follow it in the southernly direction once more and you will reach a water valve. Take a moment to rest and restore your energy to 100%, and then use the Zealot's key on the water valve, and then quickly running across to use the lift. If you are not quick enough, a mischievous ghost will turn the valve off and you will have to try again.

Note: Fight ahead, level 95.

Treus Dayth

You will land in water and swim out of it. Following this, make your way east and climb down the stairs. Go through the door to west and pick up the innocent key lying on the crate. You will now be in battle with Treus Dayth (level 95), however do not underestimate the battle as he brings the machinery to life (the carts and cranes will deal you damage), throws pickaxes at you, and also teleports around the room. It is recommended to range or mage him due to his teleporting. Using protect from range will not completely protect you from damage but may prevent you from being dealt the full amount.

When you have defeated Treus Dayth, pick up the innocent key once more and leave through the door to the east, going back up the stairs. Head west and down the stairs, open the large door and then cut a salve shard from one of the crystal outcrops. Using a ball of wool on the salve shard will make it into a Salve Amulet which increases strength and accuracy by 15% when fighting the undead.
