Experience boosting equipment are sets of wearable items that boost experience gained in a specific skill by up to a multiplier of 5.0% for each skilling action. Pieces for each set are found as a reward for training a skill for a long time, as a reward for playing various activities, and as quest rewards. The usefulness of these sets of clothing are highly debated by players. Generally pieces of the full set take longer to get than one would save training the skill with the XP bonus. Hence, some players regard the clothing sets as worthwhile only for aesthetic purposes, unless the goal is to gain very high experience in the skill. The full sets of each outfit can be stored in the Armour Case of the Costume room in a Player Owned House.
