TokHaar Fight Kiln

Introduction

The TzHaar Fight Kiln is an upgraded, much more challenging version of the vaunted Fight Caves, and, as is to be expected, gives an even better reward. Inside the Kiln you will face 37 increasingly challenging waves of TokHaar creatures, culminating to the Har-Aken boss. There are safespots which can be used for an easier time in the Kiln, but over time the arena will shrink in size until there is no cover left.

Requirements

To fight in the Fight Kiln you need to sacrifice a fire cape upon entry (after the first sacrifice you gain permanent access to the Fight Kiln) and have completed The Elder Kiln quest, although it is highly recommended you also complete Brink of Extinction for access to Obsidian Armour. It is highly recommended you have a high combat level with the ability to use all 3 combat styles at tier 70 or above.

Note: You must have at least 41 mining, although 61 is highly recommended, for the ability to use a Rune or Dragon pickaxe to defeat the Tokhaar-Ket-Dills you will encounter.

Gear and Inventory

Because you need to utilise all 3 combat styles to complete the kiln, you want to use Hybrid or all equipment.

Ideal equipment is:

  • Head: Warpriest of [god] > Obsidian Helm (of current combat style) > Akrisae's Hood
  • Body: Warpriest of [god] > Obsidian Platebody > Akrisae's Robe Top
  • Legs: Warpriest of [god] > Obsidian Platelegs > Akrisae's Robe Skirt
  • Boots: Warpriest of [god] > Obsidian Boots
  • Gloves: Warpriest of [god] > Obsidian Gloves > Culinaromancer Gloves
  • Cape: Ava's Device (highest you can use) > Skillcape
  • Weapon: 2h Crush/Magic/Crossbow of the highest tier you can use (70+ recommended)
  • Ring: 6th Age Circuit > Tokkul-Zo
  • Amulet: Amulet of Fury > Amulet of Glory = Class Specific Amulet
  • Aura: Penance > Vampyrism

You should also have a Beast of Burden Familiar full of the highest tier food you can use. Some examples of equipment you can use is shown below. Your Inventory should look something like this:

Into the Kiln

There are 37 waves of combat inside the Fight Kiln, sequentially increasing in difficulty, which will test your combat abilities. The creatures within the Kiln are resistant to any combat style they are not weak to, greatly reducing the damage you would do to them.

For the first 9 waves you want to stand under the L-shaped rock to the south, with protect from Ranged if you need it on every wave except 8, where you want protect from Magic.

On Wave 10, a TokHaar-Jad will spawn, along with a TokHaar-Tok-Xil. You want to stand on the East face of the North side of the rock in the middle of the arena before it spawns. See Special waves below for more details.

For waves 11-19, you again want to stand under the (now much smaller) L-shaped rock to the South and turn on Protect/Reflect from Magic.

On wave 20, a TokHaar-Jad will spawn along with a TokHaar-Ket-Zek. Once again you will want to stand on the East face of the North side of the rock in the middle of the arena.

Stand on the East face of the North side from here on out, except for Wave 28 (covered in Special waves)

On wave 30 you will once again have to defeat a Jad, along with 3 Yt-MejKot. Stand in the same place as you did before to begin the wave.

On wave 34 and 35 a Jad once again spawns. Stand in the same place again and destroy them both like earlier.

Wave 36 is the infamous double Jad wave. Stay calm and stand in the same place. Step out to destroy them one at a time and definitely make sure only one is attacking you at any one time.

On Wave 37, Har-Aken spawns. This will be covered in the Special waves section.

Special waves

After every other wave, Crystals spawn in the middle of the Arena. You want the crystals from waves: 1, 11, 13, 23, 25 & 35. Also, make sure to stand in the safe spots as much as possible and deal with the creatures as they come to you. Stay calm and you can easily defeat the kiln.

Handling the Jads:

Stand in the safe spot as shown below and wait until Jad stops moving. Kill anything else attacking you, then step one square north and one east, and kill the Jad as you did in the Fight Caves.

TokHaar-Ket-Dill

You need to wield your pickaxe to kill a Dill. Move between the cover and the Dill to minimise damage from its special, which is used randomly, making sure you hit it once and then step back in. Once its shell breaks, switch to Magic and kill it.

On wave 28, begin the wave here, and run south around the arena, killing each Dill one by one as you encounter them.

Wave 35

On wave 35, Jad spawns in the North East corner, so stand on the South West side of the rock and tank the creatures as they come to you, then finish the Jad.

Wave 36

The only difference between this and a normal Jad wave is the fact that there are two of them. Wait until they both have stopped moving, then step out and kill them, one before the other.

Har-Aken

As the wave starts, activate a constitution crystal, and run around the arena until you see the head spawn. Once it does, attack it with Magic or Ranged until it disappears. Repeat this until the head dies, refreshing your crystal if it expires.

Rewards

Once Har-Aken is slain, the Kiln is completed and you will be rewarded with the choice between an Uncut onyx or one of the three TokHaar Kal capes; there is one TokHaar Kal cape for every combat style, and the one you are given the option of claiming is based on which style you used to deal the most damage during the kiln.
